As the environment continues to be shaped by human impacts, our responsibility as global stewards becomes increasingly important.

If we seek to reap the social and economic benefits of natural ecosystems into the future, we must better understand and take steps to reduce the pressures on them.

The Australian Water and Environmental Research Alliance (AWERA) combines the strength of leaders in water and environmental sciences to address these challenges. Together, The University of Queensland and Griffith University will generate ideas, undertake innovative research and collaborate with multi-disciplinary partners to inform the challenges faced by ecosystems.

The Alliance is part of the Global Change Institute and provides an opportunity to coordinate research effort and deliver solutions to complex problems.
