Dr Isabel B. Franco is a Member of the GCI College of Experts and international consultant for the United Nations. She is also a sessional lecturer and researcher at The University of Queensland, Australia and a leading early career researcher in global social change-based research.
Her current research interests include sustainable development, sustainable livelihoods, climate change, sustainable resource development, women’s wellbeing, human capital development of women and girls (education, entrepreneurship, employment), socially responsible business, women in mining and governance.
Dr Franco is founder of the global social change initiative: WISELy -- Women in Sustainable Enterprises and Livelihoods. Her academic qualifications include a PhD in Corporate Social Sustainability and Governance at The University of Queensland, BA Public Management (Hons), BA of Education and Languages (Hons), MA Educational Management and Postgraduate of Governance and Public Policy.
With extensive international experience in government, academia and international organisations in Australia, Latin America and South-East Asia, Dr Franco has also published in her field and has featured as a speaker at several international conferences. She has been awarded highly competitive research grants and is proficient in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
