Whether we're interviewing Sir David Attenborough, announcing game-changing solar research or conducting coral reef studies the Global Change Institute has exciting news and events to share with you.

As an independent source of game-changing research, UQ's Global Change Institute regularly hosts high-profile lectures, workshops and presentations showcasing ideas and advice for solving the challenges of our rapidly changing world.

While we continue to conduct much-needed baseline marine surveys of coral reefs, we're also planning a new initiative to preserve 50 of the world's most precious coral habitats, and exploring new ways to reduce ocean plastic.

In February 2018, we hosted the only Queensland apearance by US environmentalist and activist Paul Hawken. His best-selling book Drawdown maps, measures, models and describes the 100 most substantive solutions to global warming.

We seek to influence policy- and decision makers by encouraging leading thinkers to share their views at the UQ Global Change Institute.

For example, we invited the Australian Environment and Energy Minister Josh Frydenberg to deliver the 2017 Challenge of Change Lecture, and Australian financial reporter Alan Kohler came to GCI to explore what climate change means for business.

Register your interest with the UQ Global Change Institute and we'll keep you up-to-date of future GCI events.
