GCI's Prof Bill Bellotti featured in last night’s Pint of Science event in Paddington.

GCI's Professor Bill Bellotti stimulated waves of discussion about food systems at Brisbane's latest 'Pint of Science' event last night in Paddington.

In front of a sell-out crowd of more than 70 people, Bill explored the relationships between food choices, the environment and our health.

In his role as Program Director of GCI's Food Systems, Prof. Bellotti brings more than 30 years' experience in leading agricultural production system research in southern Australia, western China, and eastern India.

His expertise includes agronomy, climate variability and change, farming systems and integrated approaches to food systems.

Bill's research in China and India has focussed on sustainability and food security, and more recently on the linkages between diversification of cropping systems, dietary diversity and empowerment of women farmers.

Prof. Bellotti was followed on stage by UQ’s Dr Talitha Santini and Griffith University’s Professor Rebecca Ford, whose equally well-received presentations focussed on soil and fungus, respectively.
