Professor Paul Meredith is a Professor of Physics at The University of Queensland (UQ) and Director of UQ Solar. He manages a >$50M portfolio of solar photovoltaic (PV) and concentrated solar thermal research spanning fundamental technology development, systems-level integration and policy issues. This portfolio includes the world-leading Education Investment Fund Research Infrastructure Project allied to the AGL-First Solar PV Solar Utility-Plant Project.
Professor Meredith is a current member of the ARENA Technical Advisory Board, the Australian Solar Thermal Initiative Strategic Advisory Board, the Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics Management Board, and is also co-Director of the Centre for Organic Photonics and Electronics at The University of Queensland. He served on the Premier of Queensland’s Climate Change Council 2009-2011 and is internationally recognised for his contributions to the basic science of solar energy harvesting materials and systems-level integration of PV and CST. In 2013 he was awarded the Queensland Premier’s Award at the Premier’s Sustainability Awards, and in 2014 was appointed as a prestigious Australian Research Council Discovery Outstanding Researcher Award Fellow.
